The field was discovered in 1986 by Chevron Nigeria Limited. Mahin Field is located in shallow waters (13-15 meter Water depth) offshore Western Niger Delta.

• Mahin-1 was drilled to a total depth of 9,540.6ft in 1968, and Mahin-2 was drilled in 1986 to test the other fault compartments in the field. Mahin-2 Well encountered ten (9) hydrocarbon-bearing sands –4055/MH_2, 4104/MH_2, 4153/MH_2, 4252/MH_2, 4299/MH_2, 4429/MH_2, 4533/MH_2, 5167/MH_2 and 5622/MH_2 sands respectively. RFT was carried out at various depths, yielding varying results, and subsequently suspended. No DSTs were conducted on the well.
• Based current preliminary asset evaluation. There is an indication that the proven reserves estimate on the Mahin Field is 23mmbo, with a significant upside potential.
• The stated reserves are for MAHIN-2 structure. Additionally, upside is represented by undrilled prospects and MAHIN-1 structure, currently under evaluation.
