Ruta Field is located offshore the western Niger Delta, in a water depth range of 100 ft-118 ft. The field was discovered in 1979 by Ruta 2, which encountered 24ft of net oil in three
sands between 4,700ft and 8,000ft MD. Ruta 1 encountered no pay zone due to a major fault cut, while Ruta 3 appraisal well drilled in 1995 tested the third fault block and found 53ft net oil
in one sand (D-0) at 4,545ft TVDSS. Five wells have been drilled in the field. The field is about 10km north of Opolo Field and 8km West of Malu Field. A risk base case volumetric estimate for the Ruta D-O Reservoir predicated on cumulative oil production of 28.39mmstb
